iPhone Root Password Cracked

iPhone Root Password Cracked
The root and another "mobile" account password of iPhone OSX 1.0, have been obtained from a passwd file and been cracked by the famous fellows from hackint0sh.org. The hash turned out to be old plain 1979 DES. Sadly this is not of any use so far, as the iPhone does not (yet) present us with a nice and tidy login screen to explore it's system.

Apple: We'll Only Help You With Your iPhone After It's Too Late To Return I
Darin's iPhone was defective, so he tried to return it to the AT&T store where he purchased it. No dice. AT&T told him that Apple was responsible for the device. When Darin tried to exchange the phone with Apple, they told him he'd have to deal with AT&T for the first 14 days.

That's odd, Apple has a 14 day refund policy on the iPhone.

Steve must have been a sailor in a former life, because it's been a while since we've seen a phone dictionary come preloaded with so many US swears. The iPhone even supports multiple forms of the mother of all curses -- truly, a versatile word for a versatile phone. Supports: F*ck, F*cks, Sh*t, Microsoft. Does not support: F*cker, F*cked, Zune.
